Regulates the nervous system and increases the internal balance between emotion and clarity of thought.

Yoga is offered only in the context of Warrior Camp® – we do not offer it independently of the program.

WHY YOGA?

Yoga is an evidence-informed, mind-body practice that supports regulation of the nervous system, helping individuals reconnect with their bodies in safe and empowering ways. Through breathwork, mindful movement, and present-moment awareness, yoga can reduce stress responses, improve emotional resilience, and support recovery from trauma.

Military service members and veterans often carry the effects of high-stress environments long after deployment. Trauma-informed yoga offers practical tools to restore balance — physically, mentally, and emotionally — while building strength, flexibility, focus, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Research and clinical practice increasingly recognize yoga as a valuable complementary approach to healing. Many military and healthcare settings have integrated yoga into wellness and recovery programs because of its benefits for stress regulation, mental clarity, and overall well-being.

At TRR, yoga is offered in a supportive, choice-based environment that respects each participant’s pace, autonomy, and lived experience. No prior yoga experience is required.
